In 2000, the Japanese Canadian National Museum and National Nikkei Heritage Centre was built and a legacy began.
Today, the National Nikkei Museum and Heritage Centre is on a quest to lift our programs into a new era, into a newer kind of cultural centre and museum. We want our programs to join the ranks of leading Canadian and international cultural organizations, and to engage more Canadian families through fun, growth and education. With your support, we can continue to offer community programs benefiting children, youth, seniors and families seven days a week.
Given the current worldwide economic situation, and the unfortunate reality that government grants are increasingly unpredictable, it is more important than ever that we stay financially healthy so our programs and services are available to the community. Your support is valued and needed now more than ever, and no gift is too small to make a difference to enhance the valuable cultural programs we offer.

In May 2007, donors selected a location and placed their leaf one by one on the Tree of Prosperity and kept Nikkei Heritage alive. Now the “Tree” waits in the foyer of the National Nikkei Museum & Heritage Centre for more leaves to be added.
The $250,000 raised yearly by the Tree of Prosperity helps support the day-to-day programs and services of the Centre & Museum. Through your gift, the National Nikkei Museum & Heritage Centre continues to be a place of sharing and a home of knowledge, offering cultural festivals, child development programs, Japanese culture and arts, and seniors activities and wellness.
The Tree of Prosperity received its first leaf in 2004 and has grown year by year; it is now entering its sixth year. If the program plans for 2010 are to be successful, more leaves are needed. Please add another leaf today.

Engrave your name on a leaf!
Your personally engraved leaf comes in different colours:
Green = $500
Yellow = $750
Orange = $1,000
Red = $2,500
Burgundy = $5,000
Bronze = $10,000
Copper = $15,000
Gold = $25,000
Platinum = $50,000 and more
• Leaves can be engraved in memory, or to recognize a birthday, anniversary, or other special event!
• Donate leaves individually or as a group with a monthly or annual pledge plan that best suits your needs.
• Your engraved green leaf will be placed on the Tree once your total donation reaches $500. Change your leaf colour by increasing your donation!
• New leaves are placed on the Tree for each new gift twice a year. Donors will receive prior notification of their placement. Burgundy and higher level donors will be invited to exclusive recognition events!

• Send your personal cheque via mail to the NNMHC (reply card enclosed) or make your donation via credit card by calling us at 604.777.7000
• On-line donations: go to www.canadahelps.org, type in “National Nikkei Museum & Heritage Centre” and follow the directions
• Monthly or annual donations: payment may be made by post-dated cheques or by pre-authorizing the NNMHC to withdraw from your credit card
• Donate through your workplace through the United Way Campaign. Provide our charitable number (133433946RR001) then allocate your donation to “the Tree of Prosperity”

$50 brings one student to Japan Expo, a cultural experience
